In the new season, Natia Gvenetadze, Creative Director of ASOMATAV, reflects on what a person leaves a trace in history. Remembering the great works and deeds of our ancestors, our generation looks up to them, remembers their mistakes and strives to live consciously, in harmony with ourselves and others.
We want to make the world a better place. But how? Shout out loud slogans? Fight those who think differently? Natia Gvenetadze, like most people, asks herself these questions every day.
"I start with myself. I will not condemn and will lend a helping hand, I will clean up the garbage in the forest on the lawn, I will make this world a better place every day. And this will be my voice, my little struggle and my trace in history ", - Natia Gvenetadze, founder and creative director of ASOMATAV.
The print of the season - the cage - is an allegory that symbolizes the card of life. It symbolically marks the paths along which we walk through life, with someone in parallel and in step, and with someone crossing at one or another fateful moment. Some of us leave a huge footprint, while others are just a shadow or a dotted line. There is also a trace of ASOMATAV on this map.
The new ASOMATAV collection for the fall-winter 2020/2021 season is filled with images of the traditional Georgian costume. Demonstratively strict lines of the men's Circassian coat and exquisitely feminine kartuli dresses as read by Natia Gvenetadze take on new forms of elegant dresses, jackets and trousers. The fitted dress, inspired by the traditional Georgian kartuli, in the new collection is complemented by voluminous sleeves - lanterns and a neat stand-up collar.
The men's chokha became the prototype for a deliberately strict dress - a tuxedo with slits on the sleeves, which is presented in Dina's midi and mini collection. An integral part of the wardrobe of the Georgian highlanders is a fur cloak - a vivid image of the fortitude and character of Georgian men. The heroine of ASOMATAV is in no way inferior to men in the firmness of her intentions and wears cape blouses that resemble a masculine burka, complementing the image with flared trousers at the high waist with slits in the front.
